Charlie Hamilton is a 26-year-old violinist from St. Louis, Missouri. He currently performs in
such regional orchestras as the Peoria Symphony, where he has served as acting associate
concertmaster, the Jackson Symphony (TN), and the Missouri Symphony. He has also served as
assistant concertmaster of the orchestra of Opera in the Ozarks in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. A
graduate of Oberlin Conservatory as a Conservatory Dean’s Scholar and McGill University as a
Graduate Excellence Fellow, Charlie studied with David Bowlin and Joshua Peters, respectively.
Other significant teachers have included Corinne Stillwell and Joo Kim. Charlie has also participated
in festivals such as the Bowdoin International Music Festival and Festival Napa Valley Blackburn
Music Academy.

As a soloist, Charlie made his New York concerto debut at Carnegie Hall at the age of 17. He
has also performed as a soloist with the University City Symphony and the Kirkwood Symphony
orchestras. Charlie placed second at the Music Teachers’ National Association West Central Division
Young Artist Performance Competition after winning the Missouri state competition. A passionate
chamber musician, Charlie won an Honorable Mention at the Midwest National Chamber Music
Competition and was a finalist in the American Prize National High School Chamber Music
Competition, both with the Orenda String Quartet. He is a proud recipient of scholarships from such
organizations as the Dorothy Richard Starling Foundation and the G.A. and Kathryn M. Buder
Foundation.
